La Tour D Argent
La Tour D Argent sets the standard for French haute cuisine.
It is like its famous sister in Paris. The high standard of the food and décor is only matched by the prices in this celebrated establishment situated in the New Otani Hotel. The house speciality is the duck, specially flown in daily from Brittany in France.
Other highlights on the menu are pigeon and fricassee of lobster. It is all prepared by chefs trained at the Paris restaurant and an impressive wine list accompanies the outstanding menu, which changes seasonally. It`s good to know that the restaurant is closed on Mondays and offers dinner only.
Moreover, reservations are essential and dress code is jacket and tie.

Natural History Museum
The Natural History Museum is all about discovering the natural world around us and appeals to all age groups. I remember seeing the dinosaurs when I was five years old and seeing them now still give me the same tingle down my spine. The Blue Whale is outrageous to see as you really can’t imagine how big a life-size model has to be until you walk underneath it. ‘The Power Within’ where you can experience what an earthquake feels like!

Hamarikyu
The traditional Hamarikyu Japanese garden on the Sumida river offers a relaxing break from the bustling modern city, although it’s just a hop and a skip away from the central Ginza district. As the park is surrounded entirely by water, the only entrance is via the Nanmon Bridge (or by boat from Asakusa).
The garden overlooks the vast expanse of Shiori Pond – the only seawater pond in Tokyo – and its two little islands, reached by wooden bridges.

Sumo wrestlers
14-28 January 2007 (Starts 2nd Sun of every Jan)
The greatest Sumo wrestlers in Japan meet at Tokyo’s Kokugikan Sumo Hall for the January Basho, one of the year’s six Grand Tournaments. It starts on the 14th of January.
Sumo is one of Japan’s most popular sports, steeped in legend, history and ceremony. To the outsider it can seem like a mere battle of strength and power but, it should be remembered, this is a sport with over 70 different throws, trips, forms and tricks.:)
As a spectacle Sumo is amazing. The men are giants and when they collide the forces at work are beyond comprehension. In front of a packed house they attempt to eject each other from the 4.5-metre circle or throw each other to the hard clay floor.
It`s worth seeing.
